Drinking too much coffee can have harmful effects

Drinking too much coffee can have harmful effects

Many people choose coffee over tea and prefer coffee, especially in the morning to make the mood pleasant but some people consume coffee excessively but they are unaware of its negative and positive effects.

According to a report, more than 2 billion cups of coffee are consumed daily around the world, and during the winter, this number can increase several times, however, there has been a debate regarding the benefits and harms of coffee.  Then there are its disadvantages.

Coffee lovers will be interested to know what the scientific evidence has to say on the matter.

Disadvantages of drinking coffee

  1. Pregnant women should drink no more than 1 cup of coffee everyday

Studies on the effects of coffee on the fetus have been controversial, but one thing is certain: if you drink coffee while you're pregnant, the caffeine will also reach the fetus, and your baby is extremely sensitive to caffeine.

So, if you are a heavy coffee drinker and can't stop drinking it during pregnancy, at least reduce your coffee intake to one cup a day.

 2. Insomnia may occur

Many people enjoy the taste, smell, and stimulating effects that a cup of coffee provides in the morning, however, for others these effects may be undesirable.

For individuals who suffer from coffee-related headaches or sleep problems, one solution may be to switch to decaffeinated or low-caffeinated coffee products instead.  It is also important to understand that staying up too long is bad for health.

3. Heart disease can be caused by it

Coffee contains a variety of compounds, some that are good for your body and others that may increase your risk of heart disease.  These substances include caffeine, theobromine, and polyphenols, which help keep your blood vessels healthy, but when taken in large amounts, can also clog the circulatory system.

However, if you have a cardiac arrhythmia, you should avoid or at least reduce your coffee intake.

4. Increases the fragility of bones

Coffee also has some negative side effects that are generally overlooked.  Drinking more than 5 cups a day can lead to fracture problems in women and men.  This is because caffeine can increase the amount of calcium excreted through the urine.

 5. Diarrhea may become worse

Coffee can help with motion sickness, but it can make your condition worse if you have diarrhea.  If you experience these symptoms or have a medical condition that requires you to follow a diet, you should avoid coffee.
